It was a busy week and a very cold weekend, so I did not spend much time photographing. Happily, again, despite some days of West Michigan gray skies, we had some marvelous light accompany the cold.
While puttering around the kitchen and living room, I kept noticing the warm, almost swampy-colored light, hazy and warm looking on the snow, light that in the summer would come with humid air and be glimpsed, dappled, in a forest of weeds, and shrubs, and trees. But this light washed over the snow and tall grasses in parts of my yard my backyard and was dappled with shadows in other parts. I’m not sure that makes sense, but it’s what the light seemed like to my eye.
And, one more, the cover image, full sized.
Stay warm and safe out there, with winter and COVID both roaring.
