I saw this moth stuck on a window in my kitchen, and it reminded me of the mind-sucking “slakemoths” in China Miéville’s steampunk horror-fantasy novel, Perdido Street Station.
The colors in the background (grass and evergreen trees) and the dust on the window make it look the moth is huge and flying over the water, on the hunt for its next victim. Two variants, one saturated and one desaturated.
The second image is more pleasant. It’s nothing special, just the morning sun flooding in through a living room window. The light was wonderful to look at while I drank a mid-morning coffee. Two variations. Onewarmed slightly and the edge taken off the shadows, one straight out of the camera.
Now for more coffee, and perhaps a reread of Perdido Street Station.
