Week 39 – Fish Ladder Park

This week I picked up a 10-stop neutral density filter. So this weekend I tried it out on the Grand River at Fish Ladder Park near downtown Grand Rapids. Most of the exposures in the photographs in this post were about 30 seconds long.

Here’s a few of dam. You don’t actually see the fish ladder. It’s to the left of where this picture was taken.

And here’s two of the bridge just downriver from the dam.

And then, finally, one more of the bridge, but in a B&W variation.

There’s nothing fancy here. Just playing with long exposures to make the water smooth. (I kinda like the blurred women and men fishing too.) It was a nice way to spend part of the afternoon.
