This weekend I took more time for housework than photography. When I did go out Saturday afternoon, to East Grand Rapids, it was hot. Very hot for this time of year, at least. Eighty-five degrees may not seem so bad in July or August, but it made me cranky and drove me home on Saturday.
I did get a couple of decent images, however–two reflections images and a nice one from a parking garage that had nice contrast of light and shadows.
The strong contrast in the parking garage image drew me in, particularly how the color pops in the signs from the businesses beyond the garage. The lines in the garage also are great.
What struck me about the street scenes in the reflection images is the lack of people. A very few people were walking around in the sun, but most of the few people out and about were sitting in shade at cafes eating ice cream or slurping back cold drinks.
