Week 9 – Normal?

The weather this week felt normal, perhaps for the first time this winter. Not the unusual warmth of most of December and the first part of January. Or the extreme swings in the second half of January and first half of February–bitter cold, huge dumps of snow, then 40 or 50 degrees Fahrenheit, then ice storms, then warm weather again.

Instead, this week we had normal cold, wintry mix of snow, gray skies, with bits of sun and blue sky here and there. I know that the West and Northeast are slated to get some bitter cold, with temperatures well below normal. West Michigan looks to be getting more or less normal this coming week.

This week’s pictures, like previous weeks, are mostly of nature and weather. An empty nest. Hopefully birds will be flying back soon. Long shadows in afternoon sun. And warm red sunrise sky.
