Images from late morning and early afternoon on a sunny Saturday. I headed north from Grand Rapids, first to Rockford and then Cedar Springs and Sand Lake. Here are a few of my favorites from the drive.
First, from Rockford, a lovely building with a few pedestrians going by at the right moment to add some movement. The colors of the building–red, orange, yellow–dominated the image too much, so I went with monochrome instead, adding a bit of warmth as a nod to the sun.
In Cedar Springs, I did not really stop to photograph, but I did stop at the Cedar Springs Brewery for a beer.
Finally, from Sand Lake, a few images of a derelict feed mill. I went with a film look that nods to color film stock from the 1970s that emphasizes warm tones. The last image is the cover image for the blog post. I made it the cover image because it was already in 1×1 orientation.
Enjoy the photos and the warm weekend.
