All of this week’s images include water. Several are from Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids. The others are from the Grand River a bit north of the downtown area. I went telephoto lens with almost all of them, trying to get a compressed look rather than a three-dimensional look.
I like the cover image thematically. Grey skies. The boat landing pulled out of the water for the season. The cold feeling in the image. It fits the season, as we turn towards winter in West Michigan.
Here’s a couple from Reeds Lake. The skies were grey, but the soft light really let the colors show deep saturation.
And several from the Grand River, in Riverside Park. The last bit of color in a tree holding onto its leaves. Ducks trying to stay warm. A pretty but lonely looking river.
And just for fun, from early this morning, frozen and crystalized water–aka our first significant snowfall of the year.
