Grand Rapids Multi-Exposed

I went back to downtown Grand Rapids to try some multiple exposure images of buildings along the Grand River, but did not really like any of them. So I went back to images of architecture, two of them buildings shot from above, one looking up above little parking area.

With this one, I tried to capture the street running between the buildings, as a focal point to draw the eye in, as gravity to balance the chaotic lines that dominate the image. (The cover image of the blogpost focused on the buildings on the left of this image.)

The next one worked better than I thought it would. I liked the reflections in the windows and the framing of the concrete above and below and thought multiple exposures would make it even more interesting. They did.

The last image is all about the converging lines in the architecture. They’re dynamic on their own, and that dynamism is even stronger, and more chaotic, with the multiple exposures.

My images of the river did not work out as I’d hoped. But I like these. They rescued the day! (And I’ll go back to the river and try again.)
