Roselle in Abstract

This weekend I went for a walk in Roselle Park again. It was a nice day, and I did not have time for a longer photo walk. My thought was to “abstract” an image from Roselle, rather than show off landscape.

This is the image that worked best. It’s trees in the water. The color was very monochrome, a yellowish-brown, so I converted to black and white, and flipped it vertically.

The second is more representational, but I’ve rendered it somewhat abstract by featuring the reflection in the context of the non-reflected banks along the water. This image and the next are mostly straight out of the camera, but I set the camera to have a sort of Ektachrome film look.

Finally, with the same film look, a fully representational image of some of my fellow walkers. The old silos are a feature of the park, but they’re not easy to photograph. (At least, I’ve not yet found a satisfying way.) This image is simply about the lines of the paths and utility poles framing the silos.

Enjoy!
