This weekend I spent some time photographing in a familiar place–Reeds Lake in East Grand Rapids–trying to see it in new ways. I decided to use reflections and lean into pushing images towards the abstract and surreal. And, of course, continue to take advantage of the fall colors, before they disappear. Here are a few of my favorites.
First, something a little Jackson Pollock-ish.
Second, something that is moody and impressionist.
And, finally, a few that are whimsical. The are variations of the same scene. The fallen leaves in the water seem to be flying up into the air, especially in the fourth image, which also is the cover photo for the post.
Enjoy!
