Just Playin’

I feel a bit in between seasons photographically. I’ve kind of run out of nearby towns to photograph, the thematic focus I’ve had for the past couple of years. And, my enthusiasm for that theme has run out some. I need something new visually to capture my enthusiasm. If I could live in Italy and photograph the juxtaposition of modern and medieval architecture in towns and cities, I’d be set. But I’m in West Michigan.

So, until I find that something new, I’m just playing, just casting about. Here’s a few images from the past couple of weeks that I liked.

The first couple are from around Reeds Lake, the small lake in East Grand Rapids, near where I live.

And a couple of the bridge at Riverfront Park, on the Grand River just west of Lowell, Michigan.

And, finally, one from this weekend. I took a walk in Pickerel Lake Park, a conservation area a few miles north and east of Grand Rapids. Instead of a straight-up monochrome image I went with a kind of infrared look. The second image, similarly, is a soft infrared look. The Grand River, looking from the Riverfront Park bridge.

Enjoy!
